Will a professional corporation (PC) protect my assets in Ohio?

Question: Will a professional corporation (PC) protect my assets in Ohio?

Answer: A Professional corporation will not protect your assets from activities that occur within the corporation. Typically if you are a professional, you may seek to keep assets outside of your professional corporation so that there is not a judgment that arises from your professional activities that that judgment creditor is only limited to the assets in your professional corporation. However, as a professional, you are liable for your personal acts so if you are personally liable for some negligence that you did to another party then in that lawsuit they can go after not only the assets that you own within your professional corporation but all the assets that you own personally.
