Can I use my will to name a guardian to care for my young children and manage their property?

Question: Can I use my will to name a guardian to care for my young children and manage their property?

Answer: Yes you can name a guardian in your will to oversee your children and the care of your children upon your death. I think it’s a very important provision for any young couple to provide for who they would want that guardian to be and also to provide alternates. I think that’s important because if you don’t express those wishes then your family is going to have to come to the court and present to the court why they should be guardian and that their being appointed the guardian is in the best interest of your children.
