If I create a revocable living trust, do I still need a will?

Question: If I create a revocable living trust, do I still need a will?

Answer: If you have a revocable living trust you still do need a will. One problem is that you may not transfer all of your assets into the trust upon your death so the will is there to provide for what happens to the assets that are still in your name upon your death and not in the trust. The will typically has a provision that upon your death anything that’s in your estate pours over into your trust and it’s called a pour over will.
