Is a revocable living trust available to the public like a will?

Question: Is a revocable living trust available to the public like a will?

Answer: The benefit of a revocable living trust is that it is not available to the public like a will. A will is a public document that’s filed in probate court and one of the advantages of a revocable living trust is that you have privacy. A good example here in the Cincinnati area was that there was a very wealthy individual who had a will and did not have a revocable living trust and all of his financial affairs were disclosed in probate court and it hit the front pages of the newspaper. Keeping things private and away from the public is definitely one of the big advantages of a revocable living trust.
