What are some of the steps in the probate process in Ohio?

Question: What are some of the steps in the probate process in Ohio?

Answer: The steps in the probate process initially include identifying the will and getting the will admitted to probate and then getting the executor appointed by the probate court. Once appointed then the executor will present an inventor of the assets which will be used to present to the court the assets that are subject to probate as well as a listing of all of the debts and expenses of the decedent. The probate court then will require the executor to make an accounting of the income and expenses and the distribution of assets that the executor makes and will be subject to final approval by the probate court, the final distribution of assets to the heirs.
