What is an executor (personal representative) and what does the executor do?

Question: What is an executor (personal representative) and what does the executor do?

Answer: An executor is the person that’s responsible for administering your estate in probate court. If you have a will you have appointed an executor and that person is responsible for identifying the assets, identifying your debts, and making sure that the debts are paid and the assets are distributed to the persons that you have identified in your will.
