Will my agent charge for services rendered?

Question: Will my agent charge for services rendered?

Answer:  You agent would typically expect to be compensated for handling your financial affairs. It would be highly recommended to discuss with your agent whether or not they would want to be compensated for handling your financial affairs under your power of attorney. In the event that you become incapacitated it would be important to discuss with that person the nature of the work that would be involved so that they would get an idea of the compensation that they would expect to receive. A lot of times family members may serve under a power of attorney with no compensation and that should be discussed and provided for specifically within the power of attorney that’s your mutual agreement.
